Silicon Valley Expects Increased Hiring Levels in Q2

Mar 8, 2013:

SUNNYVALE, CA (March 8, 2013) – Silicon Valley hiring levels are expected to increased through the second quarter of the year. According to the latest West Valley Staffing Group Economic Survey, employers from the greater part of Silicon Valley anticipate growth in their hiring levels.

Each quarter, West Valley Staffing Group (WVSG) surveys a range of Silicon Valley hiring managers about their upcoming hiring needs. The hiring managers come from several industries, including high tech, manufacturing, electronics, finance, semiconductor, medical, aerospace, and alternative energy. Each participant is asked, "Do you expect your hiring needs to increase, remain steady, or decrease in the next quarter and beyond?" This is the only economic survey uniquely exclusive to Silicon Valley!

Hundreds of hiring managers were surveyed this quarter, in which 46% predicted their hiring to increase in

Q2. This is an increase of 17% when compared to same quarter last year when 29% of surveyed hiring managers predicted their hiring to increase. The Economic Survey also indicated that 51% of hiring managers believe that hiring trends will remain steady during the second quarter of 2013. Meanwhile, only

3% of hiring managers expect their needs to decrease.

“Hiring managers from Silicon Valley are looking at another solid quarter,” said Charlie Allport, Executive Vice President of West Valley Staffing Group.  “We are seeing healthy numbers of job orders and this survey indicates that we are heading into a busy second quarter.”
